The 5 Year Engagement

Comedy star Jason Segel has appeared in hit movies such as Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Knocked Up, and I Love You Man. Unfortunatley it looks like his streak of hilarious movies has come to an end with this one. The movie titled The 5 Year Engagement is based on just that, a couple who falls in love has a great relationship and the perfect lives until they have to begin their wedding plans.
Based on previews, seemingly every predictable problem that can arise during an engagement does (just like we've seen in countless other wedding themed movies). The reunion of Segel and Nick Stoller, the director who also directed Forgetting Sarah Marshall, is the only thing that would make me want to give this movie a chance. I just hate going to movies that I know how they are going to end and know everything else that will probably happen as well.

THE LUCKY ONE

Opening April 20th 2012

Directed by Scott Hicks and produced by Denise Di Novi, The Lucky One stars Zach Efron as (Logan) and Taylor Schilling as (Beth). The film is based off of the book written by Nicholas Sparks which was a successful seller. The movie runs slightly over 100 minutes and is distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures.

Logan is a U.S marine who is returning home to North Carolina. During his time in Iraq, he kept a picture that he had found. It was a picture of a beautiful woman who he claims was what kept him alive during his stay. He does not know this woman but over time, he learns her name is Beth and where she lives. He shows up at her door one day and begins to work with her family in a family-ran local kennel. Beth has mistrust issues and complications in her life, but a romance develops between the two.

The film is rated PG and has the potential to be a good film; more directed torward females. Nicholas Sparks has written many love novels that have later been made into films. I personally will not see this movie in theatres because it is not my genre but definately go see it if you want to see a chick flick!!

THE THREE STOOGES

OPENING APRIL 13TH!

The Three Stooges is directed by the Farrelly brothers (Dumb and Dumber, Shallow Hal, The Ringer) is a PG for slapstick action violence, some rude and suggestive humor including language comedy. The film stars Chris Diamantopoulos, Sean Hayes, and Will Sasso. It had a 30 million dollar budget which should make it all back and gross more. The movie runs 92 minutes and has several appearances from other celebrities.

As babies, Larry, Curley, and Moe were left on a doorstep by a nun and they grow up finger-pointing and getting into all sorts of adventures. Out to save their childhood home, only The Three Stooges could become embroiled in an oddball murder plot...while also stumbling into starring in a phenomenally successful TV reality show.

Personally, I don't believe this movie will be very good. The Ferrelly brothers are great directors, especially for comedies, but this particular film leaves me skeptical. I wouldn't go see it without hearing from others about how it was. The film also had a decade worth of casting problems which leads me to believe that it may have been rushed and the actors aren't right for it.

Think Like a Man

                                              In Theatres April 20th

Think like a man is a romatic comedy starring comedian Kevin Hart, Chris Brown, Gabrielle Union, and Megan Good. Obviously such a star studded cast is the movies biggest selling point. Chris Brown is one of the biggest R&B in stars in the world right now, and Kevin Hart might be one of the most famous and funniest comedians around. Previously, Hart has had small roles in movies such as, The 40 Year Old Virgin, and Scary Movie 3 and 4, all of which he was absolutely hysterical in. This is probably his biggest role to date and I'm excited about seeing him in such a large role because everything he does is funny.
The movie is about four friends and how their dating lives are affected by a new book written by Steve Harvey titled "Think Like a Man", that gives women dating advice on how to handle men. Almost all of the reviews that I have seen so far have been positive. People are blogging about how the whole movie you dont stop laughing and how original it is.

This movie is about a group of kids who go on vacation in a cabin in the woods. They expect an enjoyable vacation in the woods, but find themselves victim of an ancient ritual where they will be sacrificed. What the kids don't know is that their whole experience is being controlled from a central command center below them allowing monsterous creatures to attack them.

All this movie is missing is Bruce Campbell.

TITANIC 3D

Released April 4th 2012!

Im sure everyone has seen Titanic. In 1997, James Cameron released the original version. If you didn't know, the film remains the second highest grossing film of all time at 1.8 billion. Yeah, its the same exact film only in 3D, but there is a new experience. The film made that much money for a reason.

Jack Dawson (Leonardo DiCaprio) wins a pair of tickets to board the Titanic in a game of poker. The ships destination is America. Rose (Kate Winslet) is an upper class young woman who plans to marry a man named Cal (Billy Zane) because of his wealth. During an attempt of suicide, Jack convinces Rose not to jump overboard. The two fall in love instantly. Cal begins to recognize the feelings that the two have for each other and decides to block Jack out as much as possible. Later on, the ship hits an iceberg and slowly begins to sink. Lifeboats are limited and Jack and Rose are left without one.

The film runs 194 minutes and is again rated PG-13. The new film was 18 million to produce, which will absolutely make its money back within the first night of the showing. Its a great film for everyone and if you haven't seen the original, you must see the 3D!!
